Whole Grain Foods Are Weight Loss Friendly

There’s no need to struggle with what to eat when you are trying to lose weight. As long as you consume foods high in whole grains, there’s no need to avoid carbohydrates. Whole grains are diet compatible foods for several reasons. For starters, they are rich in nutrition and fiber but enough in fat – that they are a guilty pleasure of dieting.

Foods high whole grains make good snacks. For the most part, they are excellent sources of complex carbohydrates. Available in many shapes, sizes, and food sources, whole grains play an integral component of weight loss. Moreover, grains are comprised of vitamins, complex carbohydrates, and variously minerals. Even more beneficial for weight loss, whole grains are naturally low in fat.

The best grains are ones that are not refined. They are deemed better because they are chock full of fiber other vital nutrients; such as magnesium, potassium and selenium because the grains are the seeds of plants. When whole grains are in their entire form they include germ, bran, and endosperm.

Germ is the origin of where new plant sprout. Germ contains concentrated sources of thiamin, iron niacin, riboflavin, vitamin E, phosphorus magnesium and zinc. There are small traces of protein and fat in wheat germ.

The out layer of the seed houses bran. Opulent in iron, thiamin, magnesium, riboflavin, phosphorus, niacin, and zinc, bran contains the vast majority of the seed's fiber.

Endosperm, also referred to as kernel, it makes up the bulk of the seed. The whole grain’s protein and carbohydrates are the components of endosperm with diminutive amounts of minerals and vitamins.

Weight loss dieting tip: Make whole grains a part of your diet. Shop for whole grain breads, cereals and snacks with a minimum of three grams of fiber.
